MEET HECTOR BONILLA
Hector Bonilla is the founder and licensed owner of Diamond Dispensary, a CAURD cannabis retailer on Graham Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. A lifelong New Yorker and former NYC taxi medallion owner-operator, Hector built his career through determination, resilience, and hard work.
Earlier cannabis-related convictions made securing and operating a taxi medallion more challenging—but those obstacles helped shape his deep commitment to fairness, opportunity, and accountability. When New York launched the CAURD program to support entrepreneurs disproportionately impacted by past cannabis laws, Hector saw a chance to turn adversity into progress.
Diamond Dispensary is the result: a fully legal, community-focused cannabis business grounded in responsibility, transparency, and the belief that everyone deserves a second chance.
